P. Coughlin / R. Jackson Collection

Ten of these drover type caboose, numbers 341 - 350, were constructed at the Denision Car Shops in 1942. Built to handle mail, baggage and passengers on the Katy's branch lines in Texas, they seated 18 passengers. Painted both standard caboose red and the more familar Sloan Yellow, a few survived till the late 1960's. A similar car of the Katy owned Beaver, Meade and Englewood Railroad served the Katy's Northwest District in Oklahoma.
